Coach Zach Eisig

Coach Zach Eisig brings a dynamic combination of competitive swimming experience, coaching leadership, and educational expertise to Hydra Aquatics. With a lifelong dedication to the sport and a passion for teaching, Zach is committed to helping swimmers grow in confidence, skill, and character—both in and out of the pool.
Originally from Damascus, Maryland, Zach swam for the Damascus Dolphins (MCSL) from 2004 to 2013. He began coaching with the Dolphins soon after, serving as an assistant coach from 2013 to 2015 and again in 2017. There, he worked with athletes of all ages and levels, honing his ability to connect and lead with purpose.
At Damascus High School, Zach served as team captain and competed at METROS and the Maryland State Championships. He continued his career at the University of Mary Washington (UMW), where he was a key contributor to the varsity swim team. During his collegiate career, Zach earned:
- 🏅 Five-time 1st Team All-Conference
- 📈 Conference Record Holder – 1650 Freestyle
- 🎓 Academic All-American – Excellence in athletics & academics
In 2022, Zach earned a Master of Education from George Mason University. He currently teaches mathematics at Fairfax High School, blending his passion for education with his dedication to youth development through sport.
Since 2021, Zach has served as a coach at Tuckahoe Recreation Club, where he has spent three seasons helping lead the team as Assistant Head Coach. In 2025, he will begin his first season as Co-Head Coach—a testament to his team-first mentality and trusted mentorship within the local swim community.
Coach Zach is thrilled to bring his experience and athlete-centered philosophy to Hydra Aquatics. He is committed to helping every athlete reach their full potential in an environment grounded in growth and joy.
