Hydra Aquatics is committed to creating a safe, healthy, and positive environment for all swimmers, families, and coaches.
Hydra Aquatics follows all USA Swimming SafeSport policies and the U.S. Center for SafeSport guidelines. All athletes, parents, and coaches are expected to complete relevant training, adhere to our code of conduct, and report any concerns immediately.

SafeSport Best Practices
- Parents are encouraged to support their child’s swim experience positively.
- Practices are open to parent observation.
- Coaches should avoid unsupervised contact outside of program activities.
- Use a "buddy club" when traveling alone with one athlete to a meet.
- Maintain professional boundaries and avoid peer-like relationships.
- Avoid roughhousing or horseplay with athletes.
- Limit physical contact to instructional and clearly explained moments in public view.
- Avoid favoritism, gifts, or special treatment for individual athletes.
SafeSport Training for Athletes, Parents & Staff
USA Swimming provides SafeSport education for athletes, parents, and non-athlete members. At Hydra, we all have a responsibility to keep our sport safe — please complete the appropriate training as listed below. As a condition of completing registration for Hydra Aquatics, parents agreed to the 2025-2026 Hydra Aquatics Safesport Education Program Acknowledgement, requiring parents and athletes to complete necessary trainings by December 31st, 2025. - Athletes 13-17y/o: Complete “Safesport for Youth Athletes” via USA Swimming
- Athletes 18+: Complete the "Athlete Protection Training" at USA Swimming
- Parents: Take the “Parent SafeSport Course” at USA Swimming
- Coaches & Staff: Must complete annual certification, background checks, and all mandated trainings.
Zoom Training Dates
Live SafeSport Zoom trainings are available for families who prefer live interaction or need help with compliance. These sessions satisfy annual training requirements.

How Athletes Complete SafeSport Training
- Parents: Visit USA Swimming, create a parent account, and link your swimmer using their USA Swimming Member ID.
- Athletes: Log in with your own email and complete the Safesport for Youth Athletes training.
