Age Group (AG1 & AG2)

Hydra’s Age Group program is designed for swimmers ages 8–13 who are proficient in all four strokes and ready to advance their training in a structured, competitive environment. These athletes refine technique, build endurance, and grow their confidence through consistent effort and meaningful competition.
✔ Age Group 2 (AG2 – Silver & Silver Prep)
AG2 welcomes swimmers ages 8–12 who are proficient in all four strokes, as well as starts, turns, and finishes. This group is perfect for athletes developing a year-round connection to the sport while maintaining flexibility for other interests and activities.
Aligned with USA Swimming’s ADM Levels 2–3, AG2 emphasizes character, confidence, connection, and technical progression. Training sessions are structured to reinforce good habits, develop early race strategies, and prepare swimmers for competitive opportunities in a low-pressure setting.
Saturday practices (Silver) and optional summer long course training help swimmers build on their progress while preparing for transition to more competitive, higher-commitment groups.
Ideal for: Swimmers developing consistent habits and growing technical skills
Commitment: 2–3x/week, with optional Saturday and summer add-ons
ADM Focus: Levels 2–3
✔ Age Group 1 (AG1 – Black, White, White Prep)
AG1 serves swimmers ages 8–13 who are proficient in all four strokes and ready to engage in structured, competitive training. This group transitions athletes into ADM Levels 3–4+, with increased focus on self-discipline, goal-setting, and ownership of their progress.
Swimmers are expected to train and compete consistently, while practicing personal responsibility, sportsmanship, and commitment. Practices are designed to support aerobic development, refine stroke technique, and implement race strategies across a broad range of events and distances.
Evening and Saturday sessions, plus optional long course training in the summer, help swimmers expand their skills and prepare for higher-level performance in senior-level groups.
Ideal for: Athletes ready for consistent, competitive training
Commitment: 3–6x/week including evenings, Saturdays, and summer
ADM Focus: Levels 3–4+
